So, do pedophiles hate themselves? I felt such horror at that guy that wanted to molest his girlfriend’s 10 year old son…carving EVIL in his forehead with his fingernails. My God…I would have called the police immediately. And how can a psychiatrist help a pedophile? I thought they were beyond rehabilitation. ---

What puzzled me was the gynocologist saying to Kerry, _You’re OK_, then going on with instructions (or trying to). At first I thought she meant Kerry hadn’t lost the baby but needed to slow down so as not to risk a miscarriage. I can understand _You’re going to be OK_, but _You’re OK_ sounds a little strange. Or did she mean _You are still capable of getting pregnant_? I suppose it could also be interpreted as _You’re not going to die from this miscarriage, in case you were wondering_ but that’s really overly Victorian. ---

**ivylass** , a psychiatrist can at least try to get him committed and away from the public, but until he actually attempts to molest a child, the police can’t do anything to him. I was taken aback by the obgyn’s “You’re OK”, as well. It seemed kind of…I don’t know. Blunt? Insensitive? Although I’m sure there are some who would consider bluntness and insensitivity in bedside manner a bit of poetic justice for Kerry (an opinion I don’t share). ---

I wonder if Kerri telling the deaf patient what happened, in sign language, was sort of a “safe person to tell” for her. I mean, this patient isn’t likely to gossip (I got the impression that she couldn’t articulate), she wouldn’t likely hear any gossip either, and perhaps shared a common thing with Kerri - a disability that to a certain extent defined her. Also, Kerri hadn’t told ANYONE except the obgyn and Abby. She hadn’t even told her girlfriend, so when this patient asked - and KNEW something had happened - it was just a trigger, no matter how unprofessional it might have been. That’s my take on it, at least. ---

**mnemosyne** , I like that take on it. I love Kerry, but she is **so** frustrating in her total unwillingness to open up and let people help! She seems to think that actually being human in front of her staff would make them lose respect for her. What she doesn’t realize is that it’s her self-enforced isolation and distance that has already lost her an awful lot of respect. Well, that and her occasional willingness to throw staffmembers to the wolves if it would benefit her career (Chen, Dave). ---

Was I the only one put off by Carter’s “We’re a team!” speech to Pratt? I realize Carter is supposed to be the father figure now, but the speech rang quite hollow. Indeed, are they digging up all of Dr. Greene’s 1st season speeches and putting them in Carter’s mouth, because I’d swear this sort of scene has happened before, recently. ---

So, Erin isn’t dead? Because she would be what-the third intern who was killed? (Gaunt jumped in front of the El, Lucy was stabbed, etc) I also wanted to slug Romano for his comment about med schools in Croatia. ---

Harkins, like Gallant, is a third-year med student. Lucy Knight was a fourth-year med student when she died (she had already applied for residencies–her match envelope came later). Gant was a surgery intern (aka first-year resident) when he jumped in front of the train. Dr. J ---

Medical school lasts four years, the last two of which are spent in clinical settings. After that, one graduates (and is thus officially a doctor), and enters a residency program to train for the specific area of medicine they will practice. (Internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, family practice, etc.) Residency lasts 3-5+ years; I think emergency med is usually four, while surgery programs can be five or more. An intern is a first-year resident. (That’s what I am right now.) HTH. Dr. J ---

I also feel kind of awkward that they didn’t go further into the whole Luka/Erin plotline from the crash. I’m actually pretty sorry that she’s woken up already, because they really squandered what looked to be a cool twist from the last ep: litterally that everyone, INCLUDING Luka, thought that he and Erin had slept together, and the only person who knew different was in a coma. They could have played that situation hard against Luka, especially with him putting her in the coma in the first place. I see a major Gallant/Luka conflict coming and it could have been way more interesting if Erin was still unconscious, Gallant blamed Luka for it, and even ashamed self-hating Luka thought that he had smarmily taken advantage of her.
