Hmm. It’s hard to tell at that level of detail but looking at panel 4 (the big one) it looks like Jojo is back with some Carnymancer friends, off on the right side. ---

Wait, I thought the predictamancers DIDN’T want Parson to go through the gate? Why would they stack with him? ---

If my calculations are correct, Parson should be passing through that gateway some time in early 2014. ---

There’s a guy with a neckerchief or ascot that is carrying a pet, and a goth chick who is probably not Zatanna, and and a slacker guy in a suit. ---

Yeah. I had visual recognition fail: took me a while to realize that’s his _shoulder_ with eyes and a toothy grin. … Which should make him easy to identify, I’d think. Just not by _me_. ---

[New Erf](http://www.erfworld.com/2012/08/book-2-%e2%80%93-page-83/) Juxtaposition of the Battle of Spacerock with the Discussion in the Magic Kingdom at least synchs up the timeline I suppose. I’m not really sure what the visual presentation of the last panel is supposed to represent, though: is it Isaac doing thinkamancy? is it Charlie’s viewpoint spying on them? what? ---

Would it really be so hard for the Great Minds to wait until _after_ the battle to have a nice sit-down chat with Parson? I mean, they were involved in his summons, they know how good he is, they should know that he’s not in significant danger this exact turn. And surely, it would be better for their purposes for him to not regard them as his enemy. ---

I’m inclined to believe that they’re panicking, and not because he’s putting himself in physical danger (frankly, he would probably be safer on the battlefield than remaining in the MK right now). They’re reacting to him going off the script and doing things they’re not prepared for, and they’re trying to corral him and get things back under control. They don’t care about the battle in Spacerock; they’re desperate to get him pointed at Charlie, and in their desperation, they’re misreading his motives and underestimating him. I suspect that the Great Minds, like Janis, did not properly appreciate the full ramifications of the Plan when it was set in motion. Their expectations were colored by their understanding of Erf units, which prepared them to think of the summoned warlord as a weapon. Powerful, yes, but under control. Instead, they got an agent, a vigorously independent actor who instinctively rebels against control and operates on principles that are alien to them. They thought they were ordering a tactical nuke, but they received an ongoing meteor storm. ---
