I know a few people in their 50s/60s who live lives very similar to how Moran apparently lived, and wouldn’t change it for the world. Just sayin. ---

If you must, there are actually tactful ways to say “I always wished she’d reach out” or “I always hoped we’d connect again” or something to indicate you knew she had problems that you hoped she could get by. Not, fuck her, addicts deserve to die alone, in so many words. ---

According to her husband indicated that it was ‘squamous cell carcinoma’, probably starting in the throat. And it was diagnosed just a couple of months ago. ---

Erin Moran is the only one who essentially disappeared after the show went off the air. I used to hear about her antics once in a while, because we were both in Indiana. He also produced _McGyver_ and some other shows that would have set him up nicely, and he’s a very successful children’s book author, which alone would probably be a lot more money than most people make. Erin’s most valuable asset was probably one she couldn’t touch: her pension account. SAG has good pensions, and she would have paid a lot into it when her shows were on the air. Her husband or whoever her designated beneficiary is will probably have a comfortable (not lavish, but good middle class or better) retirement.
