YEA! 🙂 Ok, so I opted for Thomas Kincaid. Now, I realize that TK gets lambasted quite a lot, and I’m not crazy about his paintings, but when I was furniture hunting the new SO dragged me into the Kincaid furniture gallery, and I saw this set and really loved it, so here goes. [This is the bed.](http://www.kincaidfurniture.com/ourfurniture/product.aspx?pid=2994) I got it in king, as that’s what size my mattresses are, and it’s very odd - width wise they fit perfectly, but length wise, my mattresses are short by about 8"! I assume it’s to accommodate either: a) the bedding and whatnot or b) extra long mattresses which some people get [This is the dresser and mirror](http://www.kincaidfurniture.com/ourfurniture/product.aspx?pid=2384). This is my favorite piece as before I had a teeny-tiny little three-drawer dresser. This one is HUGE! I didn’t care for the bedside table that matched this particular set, so I got an occasional table instead (which I can’t find a picture of). It’s the same height as the bed, round, with a large marble ball in the middle holding it up. The top is patina-ed copper so it matches the paint and what not I have in the room. [For my spare bedroom I got this side table.](http://www.kincaidfurniture.com/ourfurniture/product.aspx?pid=3773) The furniture in there is antique and this table matches quite nicely. Finally, [this is the bedding I chose.](http://www.kincaidfurniture.com/ourfurniture/product.aspx?pid=5035) They had a promotion on where if you bought 4 pieces of the Kincaid bedroom furniture you received bedding for free. So I did and I got $1,700 worth of bedding for free, which is awesome! My bedroom is decorated like a pond. It’s painted eucalyptus green, and I have a custom made quilt in the same green with frogs, fish, Lilly pads and cattails on it. The artwork that I have in there is all frog or pond themed. I have a silk screen that’s reminiscent of Monet’s Lilly pads (although mine only looks at the water, and has a large koi), and a number of frog items. The dark brown of the new furniture looks like…dark brown wood! HA! (Go figure), so it matches well. Now I’m in the market for an appropriate drape. I’m really crappy at choosing window coverings. Currently I have a plain blind on the window, the former window covering having been pulled down by the new (old) cat. Does anyone have any suggestions? A sheer? A heavy drape? A topper? ---

Is the cat likely to pull at anything hanging down? Do you need to cover the window for privacy? I like the simplicity of a green Roman shade, and you could always decorate it with gimp or other trim in the yellow. If hanging stuff is a problem, I would say a valance that comes down on the side or in the middle, but not a straight-across one. ---

FWIW, I’m not going to be using the bedspread that I got with the bedding - just the pillows, bed skirt, etc, so I don’t necessarily need to encorporate yellow in the drape, but I could. ---

Kincaid makes some really great furniture; if we had enough in our budget, we would be getting the Highland Park bedroom set. However, that’s just not going to happen, and, luckily enough, we’ve found something that’s a bit less in a wood that’s pleasantly darker. I second the Roman Shade idea. [Target has a bunch of them in different styles](http://www.target.com/gp/browse.html/ref=sc_fe_l_2_3075161_3/602-6551385-1861444?ie=UTF8&node=342331011). They’re simple with clean lines and are pretty low maintenance. ---

My bedroom has deep green wallpaper on three walls and a Florida room mural on the fourth wall, so I got some matchstick bamboo shades and lined them so they weren’t see-through at night with the light on inside. I hung a brass pot with ivy in the middle of the double window with ivy going up across the top of the blinds and down either side, kind of like a valance. ---

I have two of the Target Roman Shades in my house. I love them. I also really like your bedroom choices. Very tasteful and elegant.
