I’ve solved this before and decided to try it again for giggles and grins. The code for the safe as given by the URL on the memo I found in the drawer doesn’t work! I googled for a walkthrough and found a different code (1994) and it didn’t work, either! What gives? ---

The Veridian Room is much tougher. I assure you: It’s the sequel, but I played it first. If you’ve played Crimson Room beforehand, you can immediately eliminate what at first appears to be a hint, but is just the door to the previous “level.” I sure hope he comes out with an azure room or something like that. These games are a satisfying challenge. ---

After the rings: You need to get the metal rod from by the headboard and put it in the top, then open the box and insert the battery and the tape. ---

There is one more card - two of them are found as you are facing the doorway; one is red and on top of the lamp. Oh and leave the beer in the fridge til the end or you will fail. ---
