I saw a report on this on the news and I have to say what’s _really_ appalling is the piss poor graphics and sound. I mean, why not just make a total conversion of a good game? They couldn’t sell it then I guess, but it would get more kids playing it so you can give them your message. ---

Finally, some minority representation in gaming! Ok that is sick. But several years ago weren’t there underground “Auschwitz Simulation” games in Europe that caused a crackdown there? ---

I feel stupid for saying just that…anyway, as a member of a minority targeted by this sort of crap, I feel sorry for people that are that full of hate. I only think that if there are people out there who would hate me only because of what I am - or what they think I am - they must not have much of a life to begin with. And that goes for all people who hate someone else for no good reason. I only worry some little kid who has racists for parents get this game and decides to do it for real at his middle school. ---

However, one could surmise that since the greeks maintained slaves, they must be some great role models. Why they would be preferred over any of the other slave-holding ancients is beyond me, however. Perhaps another reason is that in the _Odyssey_, Odysseus’ travels take him to many lands, and he encounters other “races.” And he kills quite a few. I dunno. I wondered about this when I read the page as well. Perhaps a classicist can jump in here and help us out. ---

[The Mushroom](http://www.themushroom.com/rants/ethnic.html) has been over this. I feel the same way about this game as I do about, say, Eminem. It’s their right to say it, my right to disagree, and by people getting all up in arms about it, they just get more and more free publicity. So just deny them the attention they are craving.
