Eureka! Alcohol filtering works!!

For this purpose, yes:

The Brita Pitcher Filter contains activated carbon and an ion-exchange resin. All of the ingredients in the filter have been approved by NSF International.

The PUR Plus Pitcher replacement filter contains ion exchange resin and granular activated carbon enclosed within a pleated microfilter.

The ion exchange resin may be a slightly different type, and the microfilter might have a different porosity, but that won’t have much affect on hooch filtration. The activated charcoal is what counts.

Wow, I feel sorry for BoringKid, his boring-ass Dad seems to be illiterate. Those suppositions were not mine, but rather those of the manufacturers of Chaser, as stated in their commercials.

Next time you’re drinking your Everclear, refrain from posting. Hopefully your eyes don’t roll too far back in your head. :wally

Where exactly did I claim that this was your idea? I was poking fun at the idea that impurities caused hangovers. Whether you believe Chaser’s claims or not was not part of my post.

Interesting that you are claiming MY post was illiterate.

You were poking fun at in idea which was itself poking fun at something else. Your rolleyes was over the top, but then again so was dnooman’s Wally (TPTB have decided Wallys are not welcome outside the Pit).

People PEOPLE! We’re discussing hard liquor here! Can’t a bunch of dopers get together without a semantics throwdown breaking out?? Everyone, filter your hooch and report your results!

Ok, did my own test. I used generic Roundy’s brand vodka and it was awful without any kind of treatment. Like drinking straight rubbing alcohol awful. I filtered it 5 or six times, and its quality went up dramatically. It definetly wasn’t top shelf, but it would have been on par with Smirnov vodka, which trust me is a whole lot better than where it started.
