I can’t see how you can’t translate this to other parts of europe. ok. here is my beef. People like you don’t see the problem with a hateful religion spreading like cancer in europe (my words). I think we should do everything possible to fight it and take no shit from pc people that think all people should get along. No I don’t want to get along with intolerant people. There are lots of Christian scholars who believe the Bible isn’t literally true, but is in fact a bunch of metaphors. There are also lots of Islamic scholars who believe the Qu’ran is a bunch of metaphors. ---

**scamartistry** my point and the reason I kept coming back to the bible is because you were wrong to imply that reading it would not be relevant to the discussion. What you now acknowledge (about it being a horrible book) probably makes the whole point moot, but you only just said that. The bible is relevant because what it shows is that existence of horrible elements in key texts is a feature of both Christianity and Islam. There are Christians who think that the bible is literally the word of god and cannot be questioned. There are Christians who have appalling attitudes to women and gays. There is actually very little in common between some nominally moslem beer drinking womanising Indonesian and some immensely uptight fundamentalist Saudi. As soon as you start talking about a religion in monolithic terms you are well on the way to a lack of valuable insight. My username is the name of a street I used to live on. It has a mosque on it. The local Imam lived a few doors up. He was nice to both myself and my wife. ---

You can’t extrapolate an Islamic takeover of France by providing evidence that Sweden hasn’t been taken over. And I will, at this point, take issue with your characterization of Islam as a hateful religion. Certainly it has some adherents who believe in hateful beliefs and pursue hateful policies. This is not unique to Islam. ---
