Isn’t it great how we create all these threads and make all these funny posts while North America sleeps? I love Coldfire’s **Stupid U.S./Canadian Posts Page**. It’s really too bad that only folks in CET time (or +1/-1 hour) can view 'em. Oh, bravo, Bj0rn!! Your insightful snubs at the expense of Winnipeg were both a delight to read and fun to share. ---

On second thought, it might also read “Strangle your European here!”. I don’t know anymore. I know some Danish, well, phonetically. It’s something like this: “Dankse mäder kneben beste”. I’m sure THAT’S not too hard to translate. Oh, also: “Skäll vi kneben in mi Fa’s bil?”. Yo, Norman? Are you blushing already 😉 (Of course he’s gonna kill me on the spelling…) ---

The only Swedish I know is from the credits of Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Somehow I don’t think that’s the best linguistic source. (though it did teach me that moose bites can be quite nasty…) ---

Swedish ? SWEDISH? Please, ma’am, don’t ever mistake me for a Swede again - they build Volvos, have laws against everything and can’t hold their liquor. My request was in Danish (well, OK, typed on a German keyboard), and ColdFire figured it out, damn! I’m NOT going to translate ColdFires attempts at phonetic Danish, but I would like to point out that not all Danish girls are like that. Not the ones I seem to meet, anyway. (OK, the first sentence means something like: “Young Danish women are very competent lovers”, while the second could be translated as:“Would you like for us to get romantically entangled in my father’s car?”) As for the Dutch, well, I’m lost here. I would just like to say one thing, Norman (sincerely, I don’t mean to boast): your English is better than mine - and that’s a rarity (we’re talking about non-native speakers, obviously). Hmm, that sounds awfully pretentious. It wasn’t meant to, let’s keep it at that. The Dutch sentence means: “We’re not talking about anything, Norman. It’s just a joke!”. I also love the way you weaseled your way out of translating the tow Danish sentences I most likely screwed up 🙂 ---

My, I’m flattered - as a matter of fact, I’ve been envious of your command of English. Well. What do you mean I didn’t translate the Danish sentences ? The content (although not, admittedly, the tone) is quite precise - except that I’m not entirely happy about the bit about getting romantically entangled in the car, it calls up the wrong images.
