I skimmed the other threads that appear to have started the train here. It started when CKDexterHaven responded in horror to Persephone’s post about CPS removing her kids from her dirty house (while she partied with friends in NY). From the text in Persephone’s post, it was reasonable to be horrified, IMHO. Most of the people who thought CkDex was way out of line thought that his biggest sin was not having all the facts and not finding out more before he posted his reaction to her post. Now it looks like some of those same people are doing the same thing here. ---

Patrick, I am glad you have this off your back for now…and maybe longer. Now you can concentrate on the things that really matter in your life. You have more time to spend with your kids and Cristi. You don’t have to monitor this increasingly irritating nuthouse. For lack of better phrasing, you’re free! It’s one less source of stress and since recently it has been a major source of it, that’s a really good thing. You were the finest Mod around here, bar none. But the political nastiness of this place can tarnish the best of them. I’m glad you’re out before it could cause any more harm to you. Recent events have left little to the imagination as to the Administration’s feelings toward you. At first I wanted to think I was just too emotionally close to be objective but now it’s blatantly obvious that something is rotten here and you’re too good to be involved with it. Enjoy yourself. You deserve it. ---

I appreciate how management, though probably inadvertantly (“Can’t you give them the SLIGHTEST credit, drop?”), is finally allowing the discussion of this issue sputter to a halt. Usually shutting folks up by locking threads or saying, “This discussion has gone on long enough,” just angers them more. Let people talk and they’ll say their piece and either begin to heal or else take their business elsewhere where management is more responsive to the consumer’s needs. Like Fathom or the Unaboard. ---

One can see it as her taking a long-awaited trip to see very beloved and close friends and spend time with her future family. Or one can see it as being off frivolously drinking and whooping it up with buddies. There’s a big difference between visiting a loved one and going to Mardi Gras with your drinking pals. It makes a difference, at least to me, in how I judge a person who has left unfinished business at home. It irked me then (and still does) that when it came time to recap the unfortunate situation, some people chose to (perhaps deliberately) frame her trip in a misleading and disadvantageous way. And it makes me sad that this will continue to be perpetuated by people who read that trainwreck of a thread. Which has little to do with the OP–I just wish that if you know so little about the situation, and are new to it, that you not recap a very personal interpretation. ---

There is most likely more to the story than most of this group of MB buddies knows. We just had to fire somebody at my work and her side of the story is the only one everybody hears, because the boss really isn’t allowed to tell more about it for professional reasons. I bet the same thing is going on here. I just think it’s really ironic that people are not allowed to respond to what Persephone SAID, but ARE allowed to have all kinds of assumptive opinions about this. Jesus, it’s just a computer message board and moderators just patrol it to keep it running smoothly. Eutychus didn’t lose a real job. Get a life, people. ---
