# Eutychus

I am sorry if for some reason this question is inappropriate but I am curious.
Why is **Eutychus** no longer a moderator? what did he do? (assuming he is a ‘he’) can anyone elaborate on the following from the thread in Cafe Society?
“relations between him and the rest of the SDMB staff have become strained in recent weeks”

It seems obvious to me, since EdZotti didn’t say it in the post, that this is the kind of thing that perhaps he wanted to keep private, and therefore that

Seems to me that if **Ed Zotti** didn’t want any public questioning of Administration actions, then he shouldn’t have used phrasing that indicates a problem. He could have left that part out. Since it’s there, though, expect some questions.
**Lobsang** , do a search or two and you’ll figure it out. I won’t say any more than that.

So Euty is on hiatus from the Cafe, and you’ve added xash to GQ. Is Ukulele Ike going to be all alone in the Cafe now? Who’s going to watch over all the spoilers?

Let me preface this by saying that I have no more clue than anyone else, as to what is going on. But I can say this: When Ed makes an official announcement about the administration of the SDMB, he’s not just posting off the top of his head. He (and probably the rest of the staff) has undoubtably put a lot of consideration into his exact wording, and he said no more nor less than what he meant to say. And nobody else who knows what’s going on is likely to go against that, either.
So in other words, don’t expect any more information.

Fine. If you’ll notice in my post, _I wasn’t asking for info_.
I was pointing out that the mere mention of problems causes quite a bit of curiousity in some people.
FTR, I have no problems with Adminstration decisions about their own message board.

Well, had **Ed** not made any mention of his reasons for going on hiatus, the question would have arisen anyway. Having a nonspecific “relations are strained at the moment” saves breath and explains why in a discreet, let’s-leave-it-at-that manner.
**Chronos** wasn’t being snippy, **NoClueBoy**. Your point was a natural one, and someone else would have raised it anyway. Asking for your posts to be edited will only cause more questions to be raised.

Can you close this thread please (is it acceptable for the OP to ask for closure?) There is a thread in CS and I got an answer (sort of). I don’t want this thread to be ‘used’ as a place to debate the event as there is already a thread for that.
