OK, since everyone is talking about this and speculating wildly, I figure it’s time for rumour control.
Tuba - is there anything that you are at liberty to tell us at this time regarding Euty’s “I quit” thread in MPSIMS?

I’m here. For what that’s worth.
Euty’s posting was big a surprise to us as it was to all of you, we had no inkling. We still don’t know what’s going on, but we are attempting to find out.
If he just wants to take a break from moderating, that’s cool, if he needs to go away, that’s the way it goes. Real life has a bad habit of getting in the way sometimes.
The bottom line here: we’re his friends and we all care about him.
I’m going to copy this message to the “I quit” thread and as soon as I find out something I’ll let you know.
BTW, we were about to place another moderator on the board this week, so make no inferences about that, it’s a coincidence. In fact, for those of you with pending applications, please make no inference about any of this whatsoever, none of what’s going on affects you one way or the other.

As silly as this comparison sounds, I keep thinking of **Euty** ’s “I quit” announcement like news of a divorce. When a friend tells me that he or she is divorcing, my response is, “Well, I hope that’s good.”
Because, as unfortunate as a break-up is, we can only hope that it is for the best. **Euty** , we haven’t bumped heads a whole bunch, but I wish you well… I hope this is good news.

–Well, if he’s going to do it right we need two more “I quits.” Mayby it’ll give us a shot at him.

I’ve received email from Euty and yes indeed he does want a little break from moderating.
He’ll still be listed as a moderator, he can come back whenever he likes, it’s totally up to him. We’re happy to see him when we do.
I’m sure you all wish him the best. (If you don’t, kindly keep it to yourself.)

I’m glad to see you left the door open.
**Eutychus55** I hope you come back. You did a really good job here.
If you don’t, or just want to become a regular or intermittent poster, that will work too.
I suspect the monitor job, like head banging, feels better when it stops :D. Good luck.
