Why, thank you dear! It’s nice (I guess) that when people think “dead celebrities,” they think me.

For your entertainment, my favorite wacky dead celeb theory (no, not Lupe Velez and her terlet). When I was writing about Jean Harlow, who died of kidney disease, a fan sent me a letter written by a film buff. “You know how Jean Harlow died?” it went. “Syphilis of the eyes! Which you can only get one wayÑBY BLOWING A MAN WITH SYPHILIS!”

For some reason that just struck me as hilarious. Poor ol’ Mozart . . . Had he been Jewish, he’d be alive today . . .
