Eve! So very good to see you back! I’ve been wondering. I’ve also been curious about your new book, ver since I saw it listed on Amazon. Tell us about it, please! ---

Ooooh, I’ll have to go away more often if this is the kind of reception I get! Zen—I am sorry to say I have never seen “Educating Rita.” Must be one of those new-fangled Talkies. Cal—“Golden Images” is a collection put together by a small publisher of 41 articles I’ve done on silent movie stars in “Classic Images” and “Films of the Golden Age” over the last ten years or so (all re-edited and brushed up, of course). Lotsa photos, and all the sex, drugs and ragtime you would expect. It’ll be out in, I hope, the spring. Late spring, I imagine. More like summer. If this goes over, we will do Vol. II, with my talkie-film star pieces, from the early 1930s (Garbo, Jack Oakie, the Hilton Sisters) through the 1960s (Sharon Tate, Inger Stevens). ---

Welkommen, bienvenue, come on in! Glad to see you’re back among us, Eve. I’ve been laid up for about a week with the flu so I haven’t been able to see if anyone answered my OP. Now, like Paul Harvey, I know the reast of the story. ---

Love the whole Kay Kendall thing, IIRC, lots of weirdness there relationship-wise… I always liked Charlotte Greenwood too. What other 60 year old could still kick her heel over her head from a standing start? I’m sorry, I just can’t get the image of Eve, done up like F. Scott’s Daisy, with a bloody shiv in her garter daitily hefting the axe from the woodpile… ---

" . . . Eve, done up like F. Scott’s Daisy, with a bloody shiv in her garter daitily hefting the axe from the woodpile… " —Then Charlotte Greenwood arrives in the nick of time and kicks the ax out of my hands! By the way, you’re right, there IS a lot of weirdness in Kay Kendall’s life, and more scandal than my other books combined . . . ---

Hey, Eve! Good to see you again. I ran into this link the other day, and immediately thought of you. [Niagra Falls… slowly I turned…](http://www.angelfire.com/movies/budandlou/slowly.txt) While some might remember the Three Stooges doing it, it’s transcribed here as an Abbott and Costello routine. So, hopefully, that’s settled. ---

Hey, John—I thought of myself last night! I was watching that “Jazz” docu on teevee, and there was a clip of a bunch of hepcats cuttin’ the rug. In the middle of this, they showed a quick clip of a girl comically glaring at them in disdain through a lorgnette. “Hey!” I thought, “how did I get in there?!” [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/eve-eve-anybody/49146.md?page=1)
