Why do people keep sending me these things? Well, I mean, they only do it once, but why do they do it in the first place? I’m guessing what the writer thinks is that it means to live as though life had meaning, and to be moral (according to what they’ve decided those things mean). But you don’t need god to live that way. I think it means annoying all your friends by sending them obnoxious email messages to remind them that they’re destined for hell. Of course, the fact that God doesn’t strike his followers down for doing that sorta makes me suspect he doesn’t exist. After all, historically speaking, he’s smote people for a lot less. ---

Whenever people tell me they believe in God because it’s better to believe and find out you were wrong, than not believe and find out you were wrong, or some variant of that logic, I point out to them that they better live like every other religion is right too then, because if they are wrong about those then they will be sorry won’t they? Any belief that says you must believe in certain God or gods or whatever or face eternal punishment must be followed Just In Case by that logic. Note: I do believe in God, but not because of the Just In Case theory, and I think that is the stupidest reason to believe in anything. ---

Silly you, there’s no Latin to English Babelfish. I just guessed what it said based on a) minimal knowledge of Latin (Catholic school) and b) I speak Spanish and a bit of Italian. It was easy to “guess”. ---
