What have you never done that people automatically assume that you have? For example: Even though I was raised Catholic, I have never seen a nun in full habit outside of a movie or tv show. ---

Even tho I’m female, I’ve never considered shoes/jewelry/makeup to be desirable. OK, I do wear shoes - sneaks and loafers - but I don’t have the “ooooooooo - cute shoes!!” gene. ---

I had a student say “Well, you probably only do acid on the weekends.” When I said that I don’t do any acid, he doubled down, basically calling me a liar. Then I said “And most of my weed comes to me as second-hand smoke.” He got really angry and tried to get the rest of the class on his side and finally sputtered “But… you were a student in the 60s!” ---

I live next door to a Catholic school. (I refer to the driveway, where I have to wait while nuns drive their cars out of the big gate, as the “nun crossing”.) I was in college in the '60s, and knew plenty of people who never smoked pot. Even though I was born and raised in Alaska, I’ve never lived in an igloo nor eaten whale blubber. I have ridden in a dogsled, however. Even though I spent a career in the U.S. Navy, I have never set foot on board a ship of any kind. ---
