Yep. I’m coining a new term: “shadow drunk”. It’s that funky feeling that when you drink lightly on a Thursday night, yer all messed up on Friday morning, and yer not worth a crap. And I’m only talking _two_ beers. . . So it’s Monday. I had a beer with dinner last night, and a beer while watching South Park. Now I’m drinking Gatorade and water like there’s no tomorrow. I’m avoiding public exposure so I can work this off. . . What the hell is wrong with me? I woke up this morning at 5:30AM realizing that I had two hours to get to work, and I was totally out of my mind. Did the Vodka Fairy visit me, or am I retarded? Tripler How’s **this** for a mundane thread? ---

I know the phenomenon you describe. I don’t have it as bad as you do, but one beer’s generally enough to give me a headache the next day. Strangely enough, if I drink a lot of non-beer drinks, I don’t generally have a hangover. How’s that for weird? ---

Okay, been there! you might consider drinking WeissBier. Tastes fantastic and has none of the chemicals taht cause the ugly ugly feeling you describe. I’ve had occasion to sit and think “well dammit ! If two Carlseberg have me feeling this way I might as well have partied all night, I couldnt feel any worse” The old ones are the best. Take some paracetomol and force down at least a pint of water before you sleep. And a morning swim will kill any hangover (quasi or no) stone dead. FWIW sorry for your troubles. ---

Yeah, I think I know the feeling. This is one of the reasons I don’t like beer-- hard cider (whoo!) I’m fine, mixed drinks (unless tequila is involved) I’m fine, wine with dinner, usually fine. But a couple of beers and bleah. There must be a scientific explanation… ---

For me, it’s when I mix even light drinking with a pizza covered in about sixteen different meat toppings. I can’t sleep worth a damn, and in the morning I’m praying for death. Yet every time, I convince myself that since I like both meat toppings on pizza and beer, they’ve GOT to go together well. Someday I’ll learn me good. ---

When I was shadow boxing, the sneaky bastard landed a brutal left hook. That got me Shadow Punch Drunk. Does that count.
