Ever been surprised at how sweet people can be?

A few years ago, when my daughter was still alive, we were shopping at a supermarket. Rena (like Tina) liked to hold hands when were walking so I would hold her hand and her dad would push her wheelchair. We were walking along talking, laughing and not noticing the rest of the world. As we left the store a complete stranger came up to us and gave us a cake she had bought. She said it made her feel good to see someone ignoring to hardships and just enjoying life. I cried right there in public.

Oh, yes! There’s a lot to love about Israeli men, IMO…

I get a lot of compliments on my hair. It’s bright BRIGHT blue and purple, and I’ve gotten to chat with several people on how to get their hair to do the same thing.

Once, when I was seriously poor and driving around town trrying to find a place that sold loose tobacco and papers, a guy at a gas station I stopped at (that didn’t carry what I was looking for) bought me a pack of smokes. Made my day.

Before I got on foodstamps when I lived in TX, I was chatting with an ex-gf of mine online. I mentioned that I was freaking out about where I was going to get food from. The next day, she shows up at my apartment with a bag of food. I was amazed, since we’d just started talking again, after thinking we hated each other due to miscommunication (I hearrd rumors that she was saying means things about me, and she heard the same of me, but it wasn’t true either way).

Had another friend give me a bunch of TP that her brother was saving in the garage to TP someone’s house with. Same friend won a $100 grocery gift certificate at Project Graduation, and bought us food with it. I almost cried.

When everything looks really crappy, it’s nice when people come out of the woodwork to help you.
