Made it to Lima after getting up at the butt crack of dawn and travelling all day. There is an Applebees in just across the parking lot where I took myself to for supper. As I was finishing up dinner two off duty employees came in and sat in the next booth down from me…I ended up listening to about 15 mins of them and various other on duty staff members talking about drinking and drugs binges and who’s father still thinks she is a virgin and where they partied on Saturday night and that there were no “hotties” in tonight. Note to self: Never go to Applebees again no matter how convenient it is. I am wondering if making a complaint is worth while… Anyways I have to be all perky and chirpy and cheery tomorrow so I had better get to bed. Night all! ---

Consider bringing a tape recorder - people coming out of sedation can be amusing. 😃 Be sure that Jello isn’t cherry. Lime or lemon is safest. (Apparently enough red dye from red, orange or purple Jello can stay behind to stain things in there. Ick!) I’m not 100% thrilled with my costume for the Ren Faire this year. It rather resembles [Tom Sweeney](http://www.sfgate.com/blogs/images/sfgate/nwzchik/2006/11/13/tomsweeney300x430.JPG), legendary doorman at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. (Except the ruff and red pants.) But such is life when they don’t have the uniforms done until dress rehearsal. At least I get to carry an eight-foot halberd, which, while not exactly sharp, it is quite capable of causing severe injury. The food is on the worse side of indifferent and the staff are well, interesting. My experiences have given me the impression that Applebees hires from prison work rehab facilities. I’m sure there are one or two sane and socially competent people in the corporation somewhere, but I haven’t met them. We once had an experience bad enough to warrant a written complaint, and they punished us with a free meal. ---

Several of us had boyfriends (and every one of those ended up marrying that particular guy), but even the ones who weren’t planning on college wanted to have a couple of years between finishing high school and getting married. There is an order of nuns which is dedicated to having and keeping homes/hostelries where people can stay to perform Ignatian Exercises and other retreats. It was founded in 1928 by Father Pedro Legaria, who was born in Tudela, the town where I grew up. The Spiritual House in Tudela is on P. Legaria Street; this used to stand for “Padre Legaria” (Father Legaria) but now that we’re not just a-confesional but often anti-, it stands for “Pedro Legaria”. As the nuns point out, City Hall had it easy for that change, as they didn’t even need to change the signs. But many people who don’t know about his work think that the period and space are a typo, or a spot, and that the street is named Plegaria - Prayer Street. Which, again, is quite an appropriate name! ---

My own guess was a “yes”, as those often are linked to the whole “sister cities” thing. According to Google Maps, Toledo, OH has a relatively-small Toledo Avenue: I’m guessing that one’s it, since towns don’t usually name streets after themselves. Sevilla (Spain) has a Kansas City Avenue (sister cities again), but apparently Kansas City (MO) only has a Seville Plaza, which happens to be a Best Western Hotel. ---

blurgh. I sneezed all day yesterday. And not those little lady-like sneezes, but big, wracking snnezes. All day long. Benedryl at bedtime and I wake up with cottonmouth. blurgh. My mini horse Peanut has to stay in a dry lot with no grass, because he has something sort of like horse diabetes. He’s been escaping so I worked on the paddock this weekend until I got it Peanut-proof. Now he’s standing there miserably, whinneying at me because he’s lonesome. I put the paddock next to the bog horses’ water trough so he’d have some company throughout the day, but I may have to buy him a companion. But I don’t want a 4th horse! StG ---
