I haven’t seen either one yet, but may check out _The Forbidden Zone_. I can’t find any motivation for watching _The Human Centipede_. Roger Ebert gave it one of his worst reviews I’ve read along with his review _Freddy Got Fingered_. I showed _The Forbidden Zone_ at one of my Bad Film Festivals, and my wife begged me to turn it off _during the opening credits_. She was outvoted by everyone else, who elected to see some of the actual movie, but they agreed five minutes into it. I’m the only person of my direct acquaintance who I know has, for a fact, watched this film all the way through. Added: I’ve seen _The Human Centipede_, too, but I personally know one other person who’s seen that one. My daughter just learned last week that I saw this, and it freaked her out. ---

Back to the original topic, I remember Channel 4 in the UK once showing a censored version of _W R: Mysteries of the Organism_, which was spoken of in hushed tones at the time because it had an erection in it. It’s broken into a series of sections, one of which involves a woman making a plaster cast of a man’s willy, and it’s one of the few Yugoslavian art films with an erection in it to have either inspired a Kate Bush song, or to have been inspired by the same thing that inspired a Kate Bush song. Of course, nowadays basically every film is wall-to-wall erections, and they’ve lost their power to shock (erections, that is, not films).
