Yes, assault is clearly the solution.
Using pepper spray against peopl**e **is illegal in Canada,
Unless you’re a Mountie using it against babies and other miscreants.
I once was walking through our hospital and there was a woman standing by the emergency room entrance (indoors) yelling (and I mean yelling) into her cellphone (nothing medically-related, just something she was pissed off about). I paused momentarily to tell her she was disturbing patients and others waiting to see a physician and she should lower her voice.
It took 10 seconds for my admonishment to penetrate, then she started yelling at my back as I headed on down the corridor. How dare I etc.
I’ll yell at kids at the playground if their parents don’t correct bad behavior. For instance, once there was a whole group of kids lined up to use the slide. One kid, annoyed at having to wait in line, decided to circumvent the system. After he slid down, he immediately turned around and started to climb up the slide again.
Luckily, the kid at the top hadn’t launched himself yet, or he’d have been taken out like a bowling pin.
I had no problems yelling at him: “No, no, no, young man. It’s UP the stairs, DOWN the slide.”
If someone is driving down our cul-de-sac street too fast, I’ll also yell out, “SLOW DOWN!”
Yeah, I’m one of those people.
The alternative would be having a protected left, or banning left turns at that intersection entirely if that’s not possible — either setting up a Michigan left, or just having people make do. This sanctioned red-light running business is beyond idiotic.
And yes, I know that you’re supposed to start by sitting in smack the middle of the intersection like a smack-in-the-middle-of-the-intersection-sitting dumbass, ostensibly making it “not running the red light,” but if you don’t restart your motion until after the light turns red — and you don’t, unless you like being t-boned by the line of cars charging the yellow light at 20 over the limit — then that’s still exactly what’s happening.
Now to be clear, I don’t blame anyone for doing this under the current setup. Once it was proven to me that this was actually legal, I started doing it myself, since it’s the best option we currently have. Doesn’t mean it, and the system which not only allows it but renders it necessary, aren’t pathologically retarded.
Just wait until the wee hours of the morning when the only other vehicles are those that have been in line behind you since rush hour.
I thought pepper spray was the solution, but I expect that I am wrong due to it not being homogeneous, in which case just kick the bastard in the nuts.
That’s led to is being sold in aerosol cans about the size of an anti-perspirant can (the one I have is 225 ml) for use on bears, but it not being sold in lipstic or breath spritz sized containers for use on people. One of the odd times you can legally purchase more of a weapon than less of a weapon – the othe notable exception being the prohibition on handguns but not on most longguns/shotguns.
