I found a $20 on the floor at Wal-Mart one year right before Christmas. I picked it up and looked around, figuring that someone might have just dropped it, and a woman in front of me looked at it. I asked her, “Did you drop this?” She took it out of my hand and said, “No, but thanks!” and hurried off.
My 10-year-old daughter was with me, and we were both flabbergasted. Later, she asked me if I was mad that the woman had done that. I told her I thought it wasn’t nice and that I was mad at first, but that I’d rather be without the 20 dollars than have the money but be someone who’d do that.
