See, it’s hard for us Americans to get jokes about Ford’s name because we can’t wrap our heads around the concept that Prefect is a car and not a misspelling of ‘Perfect.’
Six months? Roughly 25 years after hearing the phrase “Le Roi Jean Quinze”, I found out, upon the death of Roy Jenkins (Brit politico), that it was a French pun on his name. Evidently “King John XV” was perceived as having too Royal an opinion of himself…
