My mom used to slap me across the face a lot, and I have slapped both my little sisters (to my shame and regret). I haven’t hit anyone or been hit since I left my parent’s house. ---

Heh, yeah, years ago in a bar by a gal as I was telling some friends a story. She thought I was about to say something about her but it went off in a completely different direction, then she was so embarassed at what she’d obviously thought I was going to say that she stormed out. What was funny though was that the slap didn’t even faze me, I just lept talking as if nothing had happened. That cracked everyone up as much as her faux pas. A boisterous scene, to be sure. ---

One of the junior ranks said something cheeky to me to show off for his friends and I slapped him and walked away. A few minutes later he apologized to me in front of all his friends for his boorish behaviour. Absurd? Yes, but it was how things were done back in the day. I was about 16 and missed curfew My boyfriend at the time was walking me to the door, my father opened it and slapped me right in front of him. I don’t know if I was more shocked, hurt or embarrassed. ---

I have no memory of this myself, but my mom claims that my dad slapped me across the face when I was 11 and whining during a family vacation. Knowing me, I probably was whining about being hot and tired and wanting to go home, and my dad spanked me and my brother a lot when we were kids so that’s nothing new, but we were in public and he (allegedly) slapped my face, which he had never done before. My mom says I didn’t cry (usual response to being spanked) but got quiet and refused to talk for a few hours, so I guess my dad had the right idea. ---

In middle school another girl in my class slapped me. She was a stinker; she laughed and claimed that she’d misjudged the distance between my face and her hand. Whatever. She’s a pediatrician now. ---

I didn’t slap someone but I meant to and…missed? There was a guy at a party who reached out and grabbed my breasts. I was shocked and instintively went to slap him but instead it came out as a punch to the nose. I broke his nose. I felt guilty for a short moment until he said that he was going to sue me. When I replied about the sexual assalt charge that would be laid he shut up (and my guy friends dragged him out). I still feel badly about it but I really didn’t think before I did it. ---

I’ve been slapped by a couple of ex-girlfriends. As I probably deserved worse, I didn’t object. I’ve slapped women during CONSENSUAL rough sex play, but I’m not sure that counts. These were not the exes from whom I merited slaps, incidentally. I’ve been punched by guys more than once. My parents never slapped me, but I did get spanked with a belt more than I care to remember. ---

When I was little, probably about 8 or so I think, I lipped off at my mom and my dad - this is strange - very gently tapped my cheek with his hand. I couldn’t understand why I ran to my room crying because it didn’t hurt in the very least. I know now that it was the shame of disappointing my dad that made me cry. When I was 17 I was the usual surly teenager wanting to do my own thing. My mom wanted me home before my usual curfew and I said no, I’ll be home AT my curfew. When I got home AT my curfew we got into it and I swore at her (the f-word) and she slapped me across the face. That was the day I left home and never moved back. (FTR, my mom is the sweetest, kindest, gentlest Christian lady ever, I love her with all my heart, and we have never had an argument or problem since. She simply didn’t “understand” me back then.) I have never open-handed slapped anyone because those scenes in movies where the woman slaps the man across the face annoy the hell out of me. The man always just stands there unfazed. If I’m gonna hit someone it’s going to be with a closed fist to do some damage, damnit! ---

Never really thought about this before but I got slapped a number of times throughout my life, which is odd because I’m a pretty mild-mannered guy. -A couple times by my mom for talking back or being disrespectful or somesuch. -Had a middle school teacher in Korea whose corporal punishment of choice was slapping you across the face, after pinching your cheeks (not in an affectionate way). I remember he had fat fat fingers. -In the army by a corporal when when I was a pvt 2nd class. Broke my glasses in the process, that ass. Didn’t even buy me new ones. The whole thing escalated to the point he cracked a rib or two of mine, but meh, worse things have happened in the great fun that is the korean army. I think I made the post in the BBQ pit when I was in the thick of it. I’ve never been slapped by an SO, but I’m probably too bland to incite that sort of anger in women. Or the women I’ve been with have been too bland to get that angry. Hmm… I’ve never slapped anyone. I’ve punched people though.
