I used to hate **Neil Diamond**. I must be an official old geezer because I am starting to appreciate the fact that the guy has actual talent. My appreciation for **Mel Gibson** actually grew when he did “Passion of the Christ.” He took a huge risk to make the film, and I admired the fact that he was willing to put his pretty boy image on the line in order to see it through. I used to love **Richard Gere** until I read a few interviews with him. He prattled on and on about Buddhism and used a lot of impressive words, but at the end of the day, he made no sense. I honestly believe he is using the Dalai Lama to deflect attention away from the fact that he is utterly, impossibly stupid. My feelings for **Tom Cruise** are inversely proportional to my feelings for **Nicole Kidman**. I used to believe that he was a nice, humble guy and she was an ice princess. What a difference a year makes. ---

Hi Zebra, While technically a Zebra is a close relative of the Domestic Horse (both are Genus: Equus), it is still inappropriate to refer to beating up a Zebra as beating a dead horse. You are of course not a bad person for wanting an autograph but you also should not expect that any celebrity be obligated to sign your item. You should find out if SMG is notorious for not signing or if you were just unlucky. Yogi Berra is a very famous baseball player from the 40’s & 50’s. He is known as one of the nicest men that ever lived and signs almost everything time permitting. I have a friend that when he was 18 Yogi brushed by him to get to his car. This friend hated Yogi for being so rude. I explained to him that Yogi is well known for sharing his time and giving autographs. He realized that he shouldn’t be mad at Yogi and just caught him on a bad day. Now Bonds as a contrast rarely signs anything and is notoriously rude to press and fans. Jim ---

**Robin Williams**. I used to think this guy was a comedic genius, and pretty good actor, but now he’s just become a tiresome parody of himself. I can’t turn the channel fast enough when he shows up on the screen. ---

I utterly despised Julia Roberts–nay, the very idea of Julia Roberts–until I saw her in _My Best Friend’s Wedding_. I’ve liked most of what she’s done since then. I still resent her, though. Before _MBFW,_ I could use her as a reliable barometer of a movie’s suckiness. No more. ---

George Clooney. He’s always been too…smarmy for me, and always seemed to be playing himself on screen. And then I saw him in [From Dusk Till Dawn](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0116367/). And figured that acting opposite Tarantino would make ANYONE look like Olivier. Then I saw [O Brother, Where Art Thou?](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190590/). I chalked it up to being in a Cohen brothers film. After all, they worked wonders for Nic Cage. Then I saw him in [The Perfect Storm](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0177971/). And damned if I didn’t like him in that, too. Then there was [Good Night, and Good Luck](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0433383). He’s still very hit-or-miss to me, but when he’s on, he’s on. ---

I never thought she was a great actress or really smoking hot. I just thought that she had a little charm, which I don’t see any more. I already admitted that it is unreasonable of me to dislike her, what do I have to do? Go out and buy The Grudge on DVD? How many people hate Tom Cruise because he jumped on a couch? Drop IT! OH and I hate Yogi Berra because he is an IDIOT! OH and I’ll agree with George Clooney. I hated him at first, now I like him a lot. ---

I dislike Sarah Michelle Gellar because she has a stupid looking nose. That \*\*has \*\*to be what Charisma Carpenter’s character is referring to in _Killed by Death_. ---

Robbie Williams - dismissed him as an idiot from a boy band, now I really like him - he’s a good singer and has a great pop sensibility. I just wish he’d lay off the rapping… **Hugh Grant** - I first dismissed him as a Merchant-Ivory pretty boy, but he’s been quite good as a comic actor - I realise he’s mostly playing himself, but I like him. ---

I hated him at first, now I like him a lot. It’s the “I saw SMG in traffic.” As soon as you said that, you lost any support you would have had. Cars, restaurants, when they’re with children. I don’t know, to me, those are the times that a celebrity is off limits. If she was in her car and didn’t look over, what’s the big deal? If I was a celebrity I would trying really hard not to “put myself out there” any more than I had to. And if that means treating a car as a kind of safety bubble, well then, so be it. ---

(Sigh) I’m sorry for the Yogi remark. **Justin** , She was sitting in the back of a limo, parked, in a driveway. She was leaving a televison studio. Then her car moved from the driveway to the street where is sat parked for a while. I did not actually even approach the car. Another person did this and the 4 or five other autograph seekers just watched. Again, you had to be there. Although, I don’t really need your support to not like SMG. I am quite capable of not caring about her all on my own. Thank you. ---

I also have to go with Nic Cage. His early roles were whiny, slimy, and annoying (Peggy Sue Got Married, for example). Then he cleaned up his act, and is tolerable, or even good in many roles.
