# Ever Had Botox?

Have you? This question is probably more for the female dopers but I would really like to know.You see, a friend of mine is looking into it and i have looked into it from the scientific research angle but if you’ve had it I was wondering How basic people who’ve had it feel about it. You know what I mean? like were the side effects that bad? After ward did you feel good about it? Did the Botox really make a difference with wrinkles? i have a feeling that this is gonna be a bad idea for her just wanna know if I have good reason to think so. :o :rolleyes:

I had Botox injections back in '99 or so, but for migraines, not wrinkles. They worked wonders on my migraines, though, and if my insurance covered them, I’d do it again.

I hadnt heard that they could use it for Migraines. Once on a show I heard that before big awards ceremony’s that some famous folk have botox because it helps them not sweat . That creeped me out.

Male & yes.
Forehead.
Tell _her_ to go for it.
It’s considered safe by plastic surgeon’s standards.
The needle pinch is no worse than a novacane shot at the dentist except that there are more shots given.
You can’t lay down for several hours after the shots so schedule it in the morning or afternoon.
Depending on the person and where the shot is given, you can still make the facial expressions you did
Some surgeons believe multiple shots, given every 6 months, over a period of time will eventually paralyze the muscle permanently, but that’s not as yet conclusive.
What price vanity? $400 to $500, depending on size of area treated, gepgraphic location of Dr., etc.
If your friend isn’t happy with the results, i e the surgeon didn’t “get the crease or wrinkle out”, tell them you want a reshoot at no charge on the follow-up.
