I’m a terrible golfer, and I hardly ever play. In fact, if I used my ancient clubs just a LITTLE less often than I do now, I’d throw them away completely. But I ALMOST had a hole in one once- I was 2 inches from a hole in one on a course in County Kerry, in Ireland. Oh, I was absolutely dreadful the rest of the day- averaging about 9 or 10 strokes per hole (meaning my foursome took forever, and the manager had to come after us to say “Speed it up, lads- you’re holding up everybody else!”). But pathetic as I am, I nearly had a hole in one. ---
