Yes, I had my first auditory hallucination a couple of weeks ago, during a bout of sleep paralysis. I was right in that spot between awake and asleep when a woman’s voice said, ‘‘Hello,’’ about a foot away from my ear. It’s hard to explain, it’s like 80% of the noise was external but there was just enough inside my head that I knew it was a hallucination. It didn’t startle me, but I woke up screaming twice that night.

I frequently have dreams I cannot distinguish from reality. The odd thing is, once I wake up, I realize the content of the dream was so outlandish, I should have known right away. It seems my dreaming judgement is not very good.
I first found out it was a real thing on here a year or two ago. Nice feeling, knowing that I’m not the only one having someone scream in their ear every now and then when nodding off.
