My sister stripped and was an “escort” for a while in her late teens, early 20s. As she later said, “I wasn’t some cheap whore, I was an _expensive_ one.” She got pregnant and had a kid when she was about 16, and alienated most of the family for a while. But, she has since settled down, gotten married, has a decent and pretty normal life. If she hadn’t had her kid, she might have just burned herself out and died young. Triplets I went to school with from elementary on were featured in a “Girls of the Pacific” or something like that in Playboy. That was kind of weird. My college roommate was passing around some of the mags, I saw them and said, “Hey, those chicks lived down the street from me!” They were using pseudonyms in their profile. I think the guys only half believed I knew them. At a party in LA I met guy who was, at that time, a prominent gay porn star. This was after he started doing porn, but still pretty early in his career. I had no idea who he was when I met him, though someone mentioned it later. Nice guy, smart, ambitious. As far as I know, the whole gay porn industry in LA imploded a few years later. No idea where he is or what he’s doing now. I’ve met a few women here who said they’ve done some porn, including some fetish stuff, but I’ve never seen any of it personally. I ran into a couple of former students (probably about 17 or 18 at the time) who were “dating” guys way older than them; guys older than me, actually. I’m fairly sure those were [enjo kôsai](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enjo_k%C5%8Dsai) situations. ---

One of my bloggy friends realised with a big big shock that she used to be friends with Ice-T’s wife “Coco” as a teenager. Her post on that still makes me chuckle. The thing is that she says it took her a few years to figure it out because of all the plastic surgery. ---
