I forget all the time. Can’t say within a couple of years when asked suddenly.
People act like I’m trying to duck the question. Tough.

People act like I’m trying to duck the question. Tough for them.
Ohmygod, that’s the cutest thing I’ve ever heard!
I forget all the time. I’ve always tended to add a few years to my age (for the obvious reasons when I was young, and more recently, just because I’d rather have people gasp “No you’re NOT!!!” then snicker and aside “No she’s not!” ) I’ve been telling people I’m 35 since I was 32.
I actually AM 35 now, and though I’ll be 36 next month, I keep thinking I’ll really be 38. :smack:
In a slightly less literal way, all the time. I’m in my 50s and have gray hair, but when I see myself, especially when I’m wearing jeans and running shoes I look like I’m 19. Of course the trick is to stay away from mirrors. So I do all sorts of dumb things for a guy my age, like running across the street in front of moving cars.
Often enough but never more then by a few years. I thought I was 32 for months before I actually turned 32. I stopped celebrating and paying attention to my birthdays when I was 6.
Right after my birthday, I’m usually able to remember, but starting in the fall (I’m a February b-day), if I start thinking about what age I’m turning, I have a hard time remembering if I am that age and turning a year older or if I’m a year younger…I don’t know, it gets completely muddled. I vaguely remember one year celebrating the wrong birthday. I had thought I already was the age I was turning and added another year. I was relieved when I finally figured it out somehow. I don’t think this started happening til I was in my later 30’s (I’ll be 48 in February- I just double-checked and did the math, so at least for now I know how old I am. Just don’t ask me tomorrow.)
Jesus Christ… always! I ALWAYS have to think before I state my age. Dunno why. I have to do the “cock my eye to the ceiling” thing to figure it out. I guess because it doesn’t matter once you pass 21, unless you wanna be president…

Obviously, I didn’t read the whole thread before responding

I’m starting to have a hard time remembering. Most friends are within a few years of my age, so sometimes I need to think for a second.
Just turned 26. Yup, 26. Damn that looks old!
I was in the military until just prior to my 40th birthday. I was very used to being asked my DOB and responding 1/13/39. Shortly after my retirement I was a applying for something, I’ve forgotten what, and was asked my age. I have absolutely no idea why I gave the answer I did, but it may have been that I was more used to responding w/ my DOB, although even I can’t make a connection. Anyway I responded. “21”, only to be met w/ a skeptical stare from the clerk.
I recall it took me a second to realize what had happened and then I, embarrassedly, corrected myself, w/ a muttered apology. Very weird
