This reminds me of a documentary I saw a few years ago. It showed a ‘robot’ which was tethered to a pole so it could only move in a circle, but it’s movement was very fluid. It did resemble human running (the legs part anyway) Just shows that it’s a matter of (not much) time before this robot or something like it can run fast like a human. ---

So… when does it run? It looked to me that it always had a foot on the floor. I hardly call that running. If it had been paying more attention to its knees I could believe “Ever seen a robot race-walk?” But really, elephants don’t run and so far neither to robots. Tenebras ---

The Running Robot (or Jogging, or Quick Walking, or whatever you want to call it) was pretty cool. RoboDump, on the other hand, was pretty disgusting. ---

I think Sony’s [Qrio](http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/QRIO/) is cooler. On their web site is a video of a bunch of the robots doing a fan dance together. It’s eerie - definitely in the ‘uncanny valley’ territory. And it can jump, throw a ball, and do other amazing stuff. ---
