I had a really not cool dream last night that I was strangling an old (70’s or 80’s) woman but for some reason she wouldn’t die and then I noticed she had an airtube going in her nose so I pulled it out and was able to strangle her to death, then my mom showed up and I was trying to justify why I did it. My leftover thought was “Good Lord”. ---

I have a fear of the dentist, based on years of having six or seven cavities a visit (I finally stopped having cavities when I was 12). In this dream I could feel my teeth loosening in my gums and falling out, one by one. I woke up in a cold panic until I ran my tongue across my teeth and felt them there, solidly in place. I actually cried I was so happy. I floss religiously now. ---

There seems to be a consistent pattern with me that I have only recently really become aware of. I often lately wake up with really negative, depressing thoughts that seem to be left over from a dream or quasi-dream state. They are usually along the lines of “your life sucks, your job is a dead end, you will never go back to school, this is as good as it is going to get” etc etc. I don’t feel this way during the day, indeed I work very hard to avoid this kind of thing happening to me. But it makes it immensely difficult to jump out of bed in the morning when your own brain biochemistry is messing with you like this. I realize now that this kind of thing has been going on for a long time with me. I need to learn not to listen to my brain at least until I have showered and had my coffee. ---

My roommate gets up rather late, so I was up and about for about an hour when he looked up and said “I see you’ve stopped delivering for the State Department,” then went back to sleep. He claimed it made perfect sense at the time. ---
