Cheetahs have some real problems in terms of genetic diversity - there only a few tens of thousands left in the world, and they all come from essentially the same genetic line, IIRC. Some kind of cloning or DNA tinkering might do them a world of good, down the road.
Beautiful animals - and the fastest runners in the world. Be a shame to lose them.
