I was going to type “seeing-eye dogs” but I figured “guide dog” was a quicker term to type. Also, if I could have just one wish, it’d be to never again type “form” when I mean “from.” ---

Supper casserole is in the oven. It took longer to assemble than I remembered so we’ll be eating a little later than usual. No biggie - it’s not like we’re going anywhere tonight. It’s started to rain a bit - that should make the new grass happy. Meanwhile, I have about an hour to knit until I have to finish supper. ---

One operator there always typed perfrom instead of perform. It was such a common error though I couldn’t understand why the computer couldn’t be programmed to just accept it as a valid command. I got bit by a mosquito just above my wrist and I am red and itchy all the way up past my thumb to my finger tip. ---

I have beer. I have hockey on the radio. Today is my Firday, and I have the next two days off. Life is good. For the record, the casserole was truly yummerrific! It’s one of my favorites. We both have full tummies. It’s still dreary out, but it’s comfy inside. 😃 ---

We had pizza for dinner. I don’t know why I am so hungry tonight. I keep picking at the pizza. It got chilly enough for us to close most of the windows. I have to rewash the dogs bed. I don’t know why but whenever I wash it he pees on it. Now he’s mad and keeps getting into the laundry basket and pulling out stuff to lay on. Normally he won’t go for it because I keep it on the landing at the bottom of the stairs and he’s afraid to go up that one step. Not tonight, he’s gotten up there twice and fallen off twice. I gave him an old towel, he’s not too happy but it will have to do. ---

So Target went to the vet today for her checkup. She weighs about 7.5 lbs. and is excruciatingly healthy. She didn’t try to eat the vet, the vet tech, or me, so it was a win. She followed her visit with a hamburger patty from McDonald’s and is playing with Airman. Today, I planned for a largish dinner. It didn’t happen because the sprog fell asleep and there’s no point in going out if he’s not with us. So I made myself a sandwich. We’ll do something tomorrow, I’m sure. ---

This morning, I had reason to be on the grounds of the seminary that will the Pope’s hotel for the evening. Talk about tight security! Once the Secret Service agent cleared a vehicle, the cop backed up his car to create an opening, which allowed one to drive thru a serpentine of jersey barriers (preventing one from getting up any speed). You then got to drive over the first of two portable [surface mount road blockers](https://www.google.com/search?q=rising+from+the+ground+security+gates&rlz=1C1SAVI_enUS598US598&es_sm=122&biw=1600&bih=755&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CFEQsARqFQoTCNSuwIyFlsgCFUgyPgodzl0PuA#tbm=isch&q=surface+mount+road+blockers&imgrc=g4SfRxXnGl4SeM%3A), only one of which would be down at a time (to prevent one from driving thru). Every one had to exit the vehicle, open all doors, hood, trunk, glove compartment, & center console hatch. After both a visual inspection & a bomb-sniffing dog run thru all could get back into the vehicle, at which point, they’d raise the first gate & lower the second one so you could drive up to the seminary. Besides PD & USSS ‘regulars’ standing post, they had multiple USSS & local PD SWAT officers with automatic rifles around their neck. I did see a cardinal getting into one of the vehicles & I mean the kind with a red sash & not wings). ---

Hey - when I break a link you gotta figure there is a good reason. 🙂 I know I probably posted about this back when it happened but a very dear friend of ours was entered in a Mr Leather competition… Problem was that the day of the event everyone but him and one other guy withdrew from it making it a two man race. To us, losing as one out of 5 or 10 is one thing but to be the one and only loser would be kinda crushing. So we decided to go just so we could give him some hugs either way. The crowd was basically 450 guys in fetish-wear, the Old Wench and a another lady, and me and some reporter dude. I at least had my Harley jacket so I slightly blended in. Our friend lost and was glad to have friendly shoulders to cry on and we really enjoyed the event and the people there - clearly out of our element they were really great and friendly to us and we have a great deal of respect for the Sirs and all their people. But we ain’t made a habit out of it either. Although we do get a carload of toys for their annual Christmas Drive for Kids every year. ---
