I have a brand new obsession: [**Kung Fu Madness**](http://www.kungfumadness.com/)!!! It’s a very basic, but _ **VERY** _ addictive web-based kung fu game in which you create a character and then try to progress up the ranks of martial arts belts by beating the living snot out of other people. It’s just about the neatest little game that I’ve seen on the web in a while, just because it’s refreshingly simple and it’s bogged down by a ton of java/flash/xml/whatever crap. Give it a try, and if you find yourself enjoying it, give me holler…my character is **[Guiron](http://www.kungfumadness.com/PlayerDetail.cfm?PlayerID=11452)** and I’ve created a dojo named **Monster Island** …and I’m currently seeking members 😃 . ---

Is there any strategy to this game that I’m not seeing? Is there a difference betweek kicking and punching? I hope not, because I’ve put in a few hours playing this already, and if I actually learn to play it right (if there is a right way), I’ll never turn off my computer. ---

I sort of miss the fisticuffs form of fighting. The Kung Fu thing seems wrong somehow. A lot of it in movies is for show, I know, but do they always have to look so silly defying gravity? 😉 I’m just old fashioned, I guess. ---

Well, after a short Christmas break, I’ve jumped back into KungFu Madness. I’ve reached brown belt, and I think I’ll make black belt shortly 😃 . The only thing I can offer you in the way of strategy is to look at your opponent’s last few fights, and see if they stick to a pattern of attack/defense. Other than that, I just try to mix up my style and not rely on one set of moves. ---
