He’d be reported often. It would lead to a quick banning. Not outright bias by moderators, but just the nature of the SDMB and it’s members and moderators at work. This doesn’t happen with a rather prominent conservative poster who has also been reviled in the Pit. He posts in other threads on the board largely without comment by other posters. And the moderation staff have taken steps against it when people have attempted to harass him in other forums for his statements here. As we will do for other posters regardless of their political opinions. In short, your opinion is bullshit. ---

I wouldn’t want to be a member of a board that let **BBC** post without being mocked. I also wouldn’t want to be a member of a board that only allowed one type of political thought. (On the right or the left.) One thing that left leaning boards like DU and right leaning boards like Tea Party ones have in common is that they suck. You need diversity of thought to make things interesting. However, that doesn’t mean that blatant idiots and assholes like **BBC** should get a pass. Is that hypocritical? I don’t think so. ---

As I said before, I give the mods credit for not targeting conservatives, or those who criticize them. It would be easy for them to do this, but they don’t. I’ll simply state that IMHO it’s much harder to post here as a conservative than a liberal without attracting negative attention. This is not whining, it’s a simple statement that’s hard to disagree with given the nature of the board. It amazes me that anyone would seriously claim **BBC** wouldn’t have been banned by now if he were a pro-life conservative for instance. Not because of mod bias, but because the lynch mob forming up around him would be much larger. ---

The more I think about it, this is sort of unprecedented. We’re in a pit thread about a poster. Yet we’re being vaguely warned we’re “probably” not going to be modded for stalking as long as he “continued to interact with us”, which you advised him not to do. Plenty of posters have been pitted before who get ripped to shreds and they never even post in the pit thread. Is this no longer allowed? ---

Is this no longer allowed? You do not appear to be bothering to read what I posted with any effort to understand it. Is this Pit thread “totally unrelated” to BPC’ behavior? Has anyone been Modded for statements made about him, here? What do you think your point is? If you are arguing that in a discussion of Creationism, Race Politics, Anthropogenic Global Warming or similar topics, you feel the need to falsely accuse him of pedophilia without Mod intervention, then you are just wrong. If someone pops up in a thread that is “totally unrelated” to the claims of his personal behavior in order to throw out charges against him, I will, indeed, consider that stalking. Your complaint, here, makes no sense unless you are arguing that once a poster has a reputation that invites disdain, that poster becomes fair game for anyone to bring up his or her reputation on any thread on any topic. Certainly, reputations get dragged into any number of threads on separate topics. A one-off quip is probably going to be let passed, (or, more likely, simply missed), by the staff. However, attacking a poster with claims about the poster’s personal life in threads that do not refer to that life has always been considered poor form and if it is repeated, it will be deemed as stalking or harassment.
