[/QUOTE] The last quote doesn’t say that the claim was that it _always_ means “Fuck you.” Even if it only means “Fuck you” some of the time, the claim as you stated it would be true. So your claim that it was “made up” is false, and also intended to be misleading. But the first quote suggests that you now do acknowledge that you sometimes use it to mean “Fuck you.” Just so long as we’re clear on that. ---

Speaking generally, Shodan is very good at what he does. And part of what he does is distort his claims made earlier, often on a previous page of the same thread. So extensive use of the multi quote function is advised. Also, be sure to stay on message. ---

I’m definitely favoring Shodan in this exchange, but rather than try to track the back and forth to convince you, there’s a different point I’d like to make. Although Shodan once said that his sign off could sometimes mean “fuck you” (and some idiot became obsessed with that remark) doesn’t necessarily make it true. “Fuck you” is a catch all substitute for a lot of more precise insults. It can cover “yer an idiot” and “yer not worth talking to” and a dozen other dismissals. It might have been equally accurate for Shodan to say that sometimes Regards meant Yer worthless and contemptible. More accurate. I don’t know if phrasing it that way would have kept the obsessive idiot from becoming obsessed, but maybe, since it doesn’t use the forbidden insult. But all this is conjecture. Maybe Shodan was being precise and literal when he said that sometimes it meant Fuck You. ---

When I said his “Regards” were meant as “fuck you and everyone looks like you”, I wasn’t \*quoting \*the sorry chucklefuck. I meant the general sentiment, not the specific OMG naughty forbidden words. It’s just self-evident to me that his sig line is meant as snide, “I’m not touching you !”-style form of deniable insult, disparagement or dismissal. Because, as I said, I’m from a social milieu where that kind of chickenshit jackassery is ubiquitous. And just as obnoxious. ---
