The sad thing about this is that hajario, because he over-reacted got an unwarranted warning put on someone. I’m not intimately familiar with BPC, but I do know he doesn’t deserve to be pushed closer to banning for this. Also it was impressive the way douchebags like Fenris and Shodan started their feeding frenzy when they smelled his blood in the water. ---

All he did was start a discussion in ATMB, which is the proper procedure in such matters. Warnings come from moderators and as I understand it, a number of them discussed the matter in their mod loop and came to a consensus. So, **hajario** didn’t get the warning put on BPC, it was a group of people tasked with the responsibility of looking at the post and at BPC’s posting history and making that determination, whether you agree with it or not. I think it is … funny … pathetic … that **Lobohan** keeps tooting the horn that old farts just don’t get edgy humor. Minimally making that sort of “joke” in a thread that had nothing to do with antiSemitism is being both a jerk and an idiot. It is “edgy” humor in the same way that someone posting to a thread about the president with “And he loves watermelon! /EdgierthanBismuth” would be. Out of the blue offensiveness on the premise that offensive is automatically funny or is okay if you qualify it as a joke. That watermelon comment could be made by someone whose grandparents are all Black (to use **BPC** ’s formulation), by someone who does not think of himself as a racist at all, and still it does not change the jerkish nature of posting the comment. I have no idea if **BPC** is 20 or 50, if he is Jewish, or of Jewish heritage, or a neoNazi, or a predator of developmentally disabled underaged girls, or a fictional creation of someone who can’t keep his story straight, or what. But this one warning was neither the critical straw nor the only one if the back gets broken later. I am meh either way with warning versus commenting don’t do it again, but by now he (if he is a he or a supermodel) knows that thin ice is under his feet. One would have thought that previous discipline would have given that message. I had thought that once someone was suspended ANY additional warning once back meant banning … they are giving him another chance anyway … this is apparently a warning lite. Will he handle it as a warning light? One can only hope. But seriously, if he hasn’t got it by now, why should this extra chance make a difference? ---

I don’t like being perceived as a pedophile or a pervert, and I think the one thing I can do that’s worse than correcting these accusations when they come up is to ignore them and let them fester. I never bring it up myself; I just point out how they’re wrong and why in the hopes that sooner or later it becomes very uncool to keep accusing me of being a pedophile. ---

Dude, if you really give a shit what a bunch of strangers on a message board that you’re never going to meet in real life think then you have issues.
