Evil Character You Can't Help Liking

Christopher Walken as the Archangel Gabriel in the Prophecy series.

My favorite bad guys seem to be animated:

Mandy
Mojo Jojo
Him
Grim
Hector con Carne
Boris Badanov
Natasha (Le Femme?)
Plankton
Stewie Griffin

In keeping with the TV vein, my clear favorite is Sheriff Buck from American Gothic.

Yeah, but being a cunning politician doesn’t make him a villain.

Armand from The Vampire Chronicles (and what the hell were they thinking when they cast Antonio Banderas?)

Most of the Greek gods (especially Zeus and Apollo)

Endora & Maurice from Bewitched. Personally I don’t see them as evil (seeing your daughter made to do housework and forbidden to use her powers would be the equivalent of watching your college-educated highly intelligent and skilled daughter marry a member of the Taliban who makes her wear a burqa and forbids her to ride in a car or talk in public), but they were more or less the villains from the show.

Stewey from Family Guy

From Tom Smith’s filk “Rocket Ride” – http://www.tomsmithonline.com/lyrics/rocket_ride.htm:

Was that a movie? I can’t find it on the IMDB.

Yep! For some reason, when you search for it by exact name, it doesn’t show up under “popular matches” it shows up under “Exact matches,” the next section down. Stupid IMDB.

here’s the link.

Daniel

The Deaf Man from Ed McBain’s mysteries. This guy is ruthless, clever, and an all around wiseass. I love him.

I hope to get the rights to all the Deaf Man mysteries in ten years and make a series of movies starring Leo Dicaprio.

Close. It’s “Fatale”.

You know, I stopped reading the 87th Precint books about 13 years ago. Did Carella ever catch him?

Nope. The Deaf Man has appeared in THE HECKLER, FUZZ, LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE DEAF MAN, EIGHT BLACK HORSES, MISCHIEF, and HARK! I understand that McBain has written an 87 mystery called “EXIT” (if you make an alphabetical list of his works with one word titles “E” is missing. Take that, Sue Grafton!) to be published as his last work after his death. I hope The Deaf Man and/or Carella get killed in it.

I’ve seen Bewitched on TVLand lately, and this just drives me up a wall! Darrin is a total asshole, and Endora was completely right to hold him in total scorn. In this day and age, his attitude (not uncommon for its day) makes the show completely unwatchable!

By the way, I’m a conservative… very few of us adhere to the “barefoot and pregnant” school of thought.

Ismbard *“I’m very good with pain” *Prince, from Lexx.

Alan Rickman (again) in any bad guy role, but his best IS Hans Gruber

Jason Isaacs (again), who seems to have replaced Rickmans as THE British guy you want for evil roles. Might remember him as Lucius Malfoy or from the Patriot.

Christopher Walken in King of New York. “I never killed anybody who didn’t deserve it”

Joe Mantegna as “Fat Tony” in “The Simpsons”. “People like rats. But they don’t like to drink the rat’s milk?”

Q. Definitely Q.

Couldn’t agree with you more!!

I’ll have to add another vote for Grim (from “The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy”). While the show’s plotlines are often lacking for my tastes, Grim is an outstanding and very consistent character. And I love the animation style.

Richard III

I was never liked Family Guy all that much, but I think Stewie is hilarious, and the voice acting on him is brilliant. “What the Hell do you think you’re doing?!”
