 spoil sport.

I do think the small mirror can prevent the Dread Curse: it redirects all actions to Oy! (say a protect and a kill) but the Curse wouldn’t be redirected because you would need to cast it Today so it wouldn’t block the kill.

But all this is speculative anyway since you would be using Dread Resurrection again, right? That way your corpse has the company of a zombie squirrel and a zombie plant!

> We have two Coroners: Hal can tell whether Deadites killed a body; OAOW can tell what powers a dead player had.

This is what I’m thinking about the most at the moment. I think it is quite likely that there is at least one non-Town somewhere in that list while some of the overlaps are valid. Teasing out which overlaps stink and which ones smell like roses is potentially risky, though OAOW showing up twice kinda sticks out when looking at the this particular microcosm.

Add to that the issue of allowing a Town lynch while knowing that Tom had stolen the book, and the little ping I had from Wanderer way back on Day 1…

> [@ComeToTheDarkSideWeHaveCookies](#):

The only thing from that whole exchange that still might niggle at me is Wanderer’s follow up to Oy! in post [233](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=12983254&postcount=233). It struck me as both mildly encouraging and mildly wrong in a different way than others were apparently interpreting what I had said.

…and that leads me to Wanderers being the most likely recipient of my vote if I’m still around to vote Tomorrow.

And while we’re discussing how to do horrible things to the sneak-thief who ratted out on me, it’s interesting how One’s role indicates that he can use any of his powers an unlimited number of times (or at least doesn’t indicate any limits) but his justification of his actions seems to indicate that he thinks he’s only got one shot of each power.

Well, at the risk of aligning myself with the guy taking so much heat, I am leaning towards town for Wanderers.

Mostly, because I know I’m town and he confirmed my block. If OAOW were scum, he’d (she’d? Why am I thinking he might be a she?) know that I’m not on his side and would have no reason to confirm me.

He could say that he saw no effects on night 2. Or, he could say that he didn’t try to do anything worth blocking. The former would be calling me a liar, and the latter would just be a null tell.

But, confirming me seems like a very unscummy thing to do.

Though I guess if he did call me a liar and I got lyched, my death would prove tha he was lying and he’d likely be the next to go.

And, of course, all of this is coming from the stand point of me knowing that I’m not scum.

Everything you mention is a null tell and does nothing to degrade the case against him, imho.

Yeah. Never underestimate Scum and their attempts to gain Town cred. I see NP’s case, and the more I think about it the more I agree with it. There’s no excuse for letting potential Town swing when you have info that can save them and lynch the guy with the Book instead.

This I gotta say tho. Me planting “Tom probably has the book” would not have been a breadcrumb. It would have been a magic bag. It would have required a full claim right then and there.

Because for him to have targeted NAF and ended up with the book, he needed to be a book related role. Dunno why but that just seemed more 3rd party to me than scum, as all the dead scum had to have been killed by _something_

Summary: **One and Only Wanderers** pushed **Idle Thoughts** hard Day Two but never gave an indicating he saw him target **NAF**. He case was the sudden change of heart of Idle about NAF.
He briefly joined the **peeker** bandwagon (10th) vote but went back to Idle when peeker refused to claim.

> [@One\_And\_Only\_Wanderers](#):

> vote peeker**

10th vote on peeker, right after Idle Thoughts of all people.

> [@One\_And\_Only\_Wanderers](#):
>
> Yes, you have explained it a ton of times, and every time it makes no sense as a justification for your about turn regarding NAF. I’m resuming my vote on you
>

> vote Idle**

A little after peeker refuses to claim and after Telcontar voted Idle (I off-voted together with a scum in LotR because scum wouldn’t cluster their votes like that for no reason right?).
Idle claims about hundred post later pointing to OaOW, Telcontar, Guiri and Drain Bead for pushing him.

> [@One\_And\_Only\_Wanderers](#):
>
> **unvote Idle**
> And all this talk of role fishing is BS. NAF had told us that the book would make him investigate as scum to a cop, and said something about twisting his role description, which would also make him look scum to a role cop, so why in blazes would anyone have thought your change of mind was due to an investigation? That’s part of why it attracted so much attention, there was no sensible way I could see to explain your change of heart.

Of course there was, you knew he and Guir/Tom visted NAF.

> [@One\_And\_Only\_Wanderers](#):
>

I can see a town Wanders do that. But contrast it with his pushing of Guiri/Tom Scud:

> [@One\_And\_Only\_Wanderers](#):
>
> Hi Tom, what are your thoughts on the game? Have you been following or are you now on an EPIC reread?

That’s all folks. I can even see it as scum gloating: the epic reread refering to him reading the Book of the Dead not the thread. If that was a town breadcrumb he should have mentioned it by now except:

> [@One\_And\_Only\_Wanderers](#):
>
> i didn’t think of a good way to breadcrumb it unfortunately

For the rest he made a lot of posts about Mahaloth role PM.

He has said he didn’t want to claim before he used his police contact. What were your plans for Night Two and Three?

> [@](#):
>
> Zoom Lens: Allows you to follow a player of your choice and learn who, if anyone, your target targets and what type of action was taken (Investigative, Protective, Aggressive, Other).

Zoom Lens is basically a weaker version of the Police Contact but no indication the are one shot. Unfinished role given to scum as cover?

What does “a book related role” that “seemed more 3rd party to me than scum” have to do with “as all the dead scum had to have been killed by _something_”?

I’m kinda on the fence as to whether or not One is lying, but this idea that because he didn’t bread crumb or claim when someone of unknown alignment(at the time) was being lynched he must be scum is ridiculous. Just because someone played in a way you disagree with doesn’t make them scum. In the very last game here, I was a detective. I got a scum read on Night 2. Day 3, someone who wasn’t the person I got a scum lead on was lynched. I didn’t claim. Why? Because I felt the risk outweighed the rewards. If the lynch had been a scum, people would have been celebrating the smart decision. But because it was a Town, suddenly OAOW is scum? Nice hindsight.

No more so than when I claimed that Chipacabra had died protecting me, which I had done (and gotten away with) even before Idle and NAF were ruled out as culprits. That’s if you said it plain, which I wasn’t even referring to in that post – I was talking about disguising it the way Idle did with his result on NAF.

**EXT - THE FRONT OF THE CABIN**

_CLOSE ON the face of **Tom Scud**. He emits spittle._

TOM SCUD
You fools. You FOOLS! You have NO IDEA what forces lurk beyond the Veil. You may stamp out this small group of demons; you may once again bury the one tool that can save humanity. But they will be back. You haven’t the will to defend this world. You haven’t the POWER! I’m this world’s last, best hope. And, blind, willful idiots that you are, you’ll throw me into that woodchipper and count it as a victory. _Never!_

\*Behind him, the **zombie squirrel** skitters into the frame. It glares at the assembled mob with something resembling reproachful anger. The group tenses… and we hear another sound, from within the trees. More skittering. We see a second zombie squirrel poke its tiny head out from inside the bushes. Then a third, a fourth. A zombie squirrel with both its paws decayed into nothingness attempts to climb down the storm drain of the cabin and, sadly, fails. It hits the ground with a thud… then pulls itself up to snarl pawlessly at the mob.

We see the bewildered faces of the group as more and more squirrels emerge, their teeth bared, dead eyes fixed balefully on all present. **Tom Scud** laughs roughly.\*

TOM SCUD
And now, see how you fare against the might of my _terrible army_. Attack!

_A squirrel lunges. The screen fades to black._

**EXT - LATER THAT EVENING**

_Fade up outside the cabin. The group sits around a roaring campfire. In the background the woodchipper hums. An extra eats some kind of strange meat from a wooden skewer._

THE EXTRA
Not bad.

A SECOND EXTRA
He should have picked _bears._ Bears would have kicked our asses.

_They all laugh._

THE EXTRA (extending the skewer)
More squirrel, anyone?

_Fade to black._

**A FEW HOURS LATER - INT**

_Close on the Necronomicon, sitting on its pedestal. We hear the voice of Tom Scud, in voice over._

TOM SCUD
One… last… act…

_Flashback to Tom Scud, just before his untimely death, reading a few incomprehensible words from the Necronomicon before placing it gently on the pedestal._

_Back to the present. Outside, the woodchipper still hums. We hear a voice, sudden and very loud._

VOICE
Natlaw, YOU ARE A POOPYHEAD!!!

_A few moments later, the woodchipper finally stops running. Its master finally gone for good, and its last command completed, the Necronomicon quietly, and without fuss, dissolves into the darkness… awaiting its next opportunity._

**Tom Scud** , the Redshirt, who was Third-Party (Thief), has been lynched.

Following his death, the Necronomicon was consumed in a blaze of Hellfire and vanished; it will not make a further appearance in the game (but may appear in a future game :D).

The Night begins now and will end at 3:00PM EST (or thereabouts on Monday).
