You’re quite right, and I apologize for misremembering. Mea culpa!
But I am of the opinion that the cookie spawn are red herrings. Let’s concentrate on finding the remaining scum, and then if need be, we can clean up any cookie spawn.
OK, putting the whole **OAOW** matter aside for the moment, what we have here is the fact that last Night no one died, **brewha** was protected and **hal briston** was blocked (according to **brewha** ).

I trust **natlaw** ; I think he’s a real doctor, and that he really protected **brewha**. I don’t feel strongly about brewha; it’s possible he is Scum and possible that he’s Town. If he’s Scum, I doubt he blocked **Hal Briston** ; in fact, if he’s Scum, I doubt he can Block at all. But **OAOW** claims to have been Blocked on Night Two. So if **brewha** is Scum, either **OAOW** is lying or **Peeker** blocked **OAOW** Night Two and told **brewha** about it. That’s plausible.

But if **brewha** is Scum, why didn’t anyone die last Night? If **brewha** is Scum, then no one was blocked and only **brewha** (himself a Scum) was Protected (unless Drain Bead successfully used the flower on someone who was attacked - possible, but unlikely.)

**brewha** , I’d like to confirm that you can block or not. I have one power left, and it’s useless: the incense that drives away third parties and Town, but not Scum. I want you to Block me, and I can tell Town in the morning whether or not you did (assuming I live through the Night).

In the meantime, I’m going to believe you, and **vote Hal Briston**.

I do want to clarify that I dont’ wholly believe that Hal is scum. I was merely trying to test in a way that would be definitive for me at least. But since he has a day power and especially since he didn’t use it anyway, it did me absolutely no good. It is very possible that he is scum - I just don’t want you to think that I’m campaigning to get him lynched.

As for tonight’s block. Go ahead and use your incense. I don’t know if I can commit to blocking you at this point, though. No matter how the power is used, I really don’t want scum to have a game plan of what the town is doing.

Let’s say I commit to blocking you. Scum could kill you off to implicate me. They could kill me off to prevent me from being confirmed. Or they could kill any town since I’d be blocking you and not them. Honestly, the chances of me guessing who is scum and picking the one that is doing the killing is slim, but if I"m to believe that you are not scum, my blocking you puts my chances of blocking scum at zero.

Now that all of that is out there, I’ll let the scum play WIFOM with it til Tomorrow morning.

Do as you think best. I’m perfectly happy with the idea of being NK’ed anyway, as my powers are gone and I’m not a good player, so my value to Town is minuscule at this point.

I’m bewildered. Can you explain what you’re asking here:

> [@Total Lost](#):
>
> But to try and set a trap like this, the say you blocked “Hal” and that we should all look elsewhere?

First, I’m assuming that the “the” should be “then”? And why Hal in quotes? But, the real question is, where did I say we should look elsewhere?

As far as what would happen to Texcat? Why do you think I blocked her the first night? I had and still have suspicions of her. Nothing really concrete. More just her posts and reactions. Plus Ryan Seacrest - really? I just wanna see his reaction when he goes in the chipper.

If Texcat gets strung up as a result of my deception, I suspect that it would be a good thing.

Here’s the bottom line. What good is a pro town role blocker? How can I possibly use my power to help town? If I do nothing, I get the “well, you must not really be able to block”. If I randomly guess, I could block a Vanilla who can neither confirm nor deny that I did anything, a pro town power role - which looks bad for me and hurts the town, or I could block scum.

But, even if I do get lucky and block scum, what good does that even do? I either blocked a scummy power role or I blocked a kill. But scum aren’t going to admit that they didn’t accomplish what they were intending. Or, I could have blocked a scum that just didn’t do anything that night too, I suppose. Any block of a scum is good, but is it worth the chance to block a pro town role since any block is more of a guess?

You picking up what I’m putting down? I wanted to carry out a plan that could conceivably confirm that Hal was either town or scum using a power that I could find no other use for. Like I said, it was a bad plan considering that Hal’s power aren’t blockable at night. But, if they were, I figured that the ends would have justified the means.

They’ve lost their roleblocker, their strongman (if Ed could kill through protection), and their trickster (whatever that was). It’s possible they’ve chosen not to kill at all until they can be reasonably certain they can kill me by at least the next night, because otherwise I obviously ask “who killed X?”.
>
> All the kills are accounted for, I believe, so there’s nothing more to learn there. I can catch liars, if I happen to test the right lie (and if there are any – no real guarantee there). I can confirm town to some extent. None of those things are guaranteed to hurt the scum the way a direct investigation of a kill would.
>
> If you watch me, then I am guaranteed one more investigation (most likely, one more mostly-confirmed townie). Depending on the game state, that could make a big difference. I’m not sure of the timing, though. I’ve forgotten how many traps McGinty says he has, and I obviously don’t know what Natlaw’s status is, though I trust him to judge accurately what to say about it, or not.
>
> This game is in desperate need of some real analysis, and I’m not sure I can manage it. I’ll try to find time before the end of the week.

When I said “I can get behind that,” it was in response to this. I was posting from my phone, so I was trying to be brief. Also, apparently not using closing tags means that the tags don’t work. So much for that shortcut.

Here’s the thing, **Total**. I agree that what **brewha** did was not good Town play (although I understand his claimed rationale for a trap). But I can’t see the point to Scum’s not having any Night Kill last night. If **Brewha** is Scum, then either someone is not being open about Protecting a Townie (or being able to Block Scum), or Scum didn’t try a Night Kill, because they wouldn’t have tried to kill one of themselves, but **brewha** was the only person protected.

If they wanted to finger someone as Scum, so refrained from Killing, why wouldn’t **brewha** have again claimed to Block **TexCat**? That would just about have put the noose around **TexCat** ’s neck. Well, there is one possibility; **brewha** might have been afraid that **OAOW** was staking out **TexCat** , so changed his claimed target for fear **OAOW** could say he hadn’t blocked her. Except that **OAOW** hasn’t been suspicious of **brewha** at all, because he says he was blocked Night Two, and assumes it was **brewha** who blocked him.

The whole thing is just too cumbersome. I can’t see a motive for Scum not killing last Night that doesn’t fall down under the enormous weight of twisty-turny deceptions of dubious value. The only thing I can figure is that either Scum tried to kill a protected Townie ( **brewha** ), or Scum tried to kill and were blocked. If it’s the former, I don’t have the remotest idea who Scum are. If it’s the latter, then it must have been **Hal Briston**.

Oh, and thanks for the invite, but I will be tied up with family stuff for the next couple of weeks.

**brewha** , you might have already stopped two kill from happening so I don’t see how you see your power as useless. More importantly you identify the killer on a successful block. Once I run out of talismans it will be easier to determine if your block are succesful.

Therefore, **Oy!**'s plan to confirm your power is useless. 1) Trust OaOW that youcan block or 2) Trust that I protected you last Night protect which makes it very unlikely you are scum with the no kill\*. To a a 3) trust Oy that you can blocked adds not much usefull to 1 and 2. For the record I don’t see a reason for a scum OaOW to lie about if he was blocked or not.
Also assuming two scum Oy!'s pan is very pro-scum because they can choose to let another kill if they know the first will be blocked.

\*) They are too far behind to choose not to kill in my view although having an investigator around who can watch after the fact makes it very dangerous.

Next: I read the Alien PM as that she could impregnate only one at the time so there is no worry there and if there were scum take priority.

My vote is ATM om Texcat. For several reasons:

1. I think it’s strange to have only one vanilla-claim (with no bonus) in this mass-claim
2. She was (or so it seems) blocked by Brewha on the first Night of no NK’s.
3. I’d like to see where all of this Brewha.Hal-OAOW-Texcat is leading. If she turns up town, then I guess a vanilla Town is better lost then a power.

But I’m not saying my vote stays at Texcat no matter what. However - for now - I feel it’s a well placed vote.

First - you’re right.
Hal in quotes because I couldn’t remember his last name when typing.
Why would you ask Texcat if it was a “Coincidence?” and then later wave it off as you trying to set up a trap?

You must have know that Texcat would pick up on this. Answer this. So I figured that setting Texcat up like that was part of the trap?

Yet, you don’t seem to push Texcat ATM - you didn’t vote her or anything. So I (again) figured you where looking for scum elsewhere?
Now I’d wondering where? And why?

Because **brewha** blocked him one of those two Nights, so the lack of kill could still be due to the block, and more importantly because I want to try **Normal** ’s idea.

Natlaw, do you have an updated claims list with links? I’m getting some of the roles and powers mixed up in my head and I’d like to go back over all the claims, but it would take me awhile to find them all.

I missed Nanook (sorry Nanook- but that can happen). As for the rest - we don’t know if they had any bonus.
If I’d been lynched Day 1, I bet I would have turned up “vanilla” but it seems I wasn’t.

We had a mass-claim. In my book that means we lynch vanillas and unconfirmed until we hit scum. Why else did we claim in the first place?
