But tires did develop in stages – we did NOT just jump from wooden wagon wheels to inflated pneumatic rubber tires. There were various steps along the way, like wooden carriage wheels with a rubber strip on the outside, solid rubber (non-inflated) tires, etc.
(Not that this has any connection to evolution, since tires are not a living organism, but a machine developed by humans.)
