You were genuinely curious whether even a single individual in the southern United Statesbelieves in evolution? A region that contains, by US Census figures, over 1/3 of the US population - some 122+ million people?
Seems a bit disingenuous to me as well. It sounds much more like a veiled insult. And no, it would not be a question better suited for GQ.
I’ll say this. Most of the (older, Christian) adults here in Tennessee** I know** still refuse to believe in it, will claim “Darwin recanted” and they only believe in this Big Bang: God said it and BANG it was there! They don’t really know what it is even though they’ve been teaching it in every public school at least since I was a kid in the 80s. We were taught the details and still adults will try to pass the “I know we didn’t come from monkeys!” line.
Some of the people I know who don’t believe in Creationism still believe in “Intelligent Design”.
In my opinion your question is not nearly as far-fetched as some people here are acting like. I know it’s taught in school but most everyone I know rejects it, just like most reject climate change. They don’t WANT to believe it happens because it contradicts their god stories. This seems to be changing with the younger generation but they could slip in to the same mentality as they get older and trust their religious leaders over scientists.
A strange choice to revive a months-dormant thread, in which someone else had already been given a warning for a lack of civility towards you, in order for you to express this comeback.
