The open question is whether the Altaic family exists or not. If Altaic does turn a real language family, then Tungus-Manchu is totally signed up as a charter member.

He also completely misinterpreted Polycarp’s post. I think it’s pretty obvious Polycarp wasn’t stating that Portuguese and Afrikaans came into existence between four and six thousand years ago.
