I’m originally from New York. I’ve lived in Panama for a total of 18 years: two years when I was doing my thesis here 1977-1979, then continuously since 1992, when I came here on a one-year temporary assignment.

I also lived for 3.5 years in New Zealand (Wellington and Auckland) from 1981-1985, so I’ve been an expat nearly 22 years.
