My father has a Zippo that he got while in the Navy. Everyone on his ship got one. I think he said he got it in 1967. It is the only lighter he uses. He’s never had to return it for repair. He did return it a few years ago to have the symbol repainted on it. It has the “logo” of his ship on it. He sent a letter along with it stating how sentimental it was to him and asked that he get the same one back and not a new one. He marked the bottom of it before returning it to make sure he got the same one back. When it came back it was in fact the same one.
