# Examples of large corporations buying successful companies and continuing the success

I didn’t want to derail this [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=16306352#post16306352) about Yahoo buying Tumblr, but it got me thinking: are there any good examples of deals like that working out well?

I’m sure there have to be some, but I’m at a loss at the moment.

Feel free to include those examples where the deal went really badly.
