Exercise that can be done in your room?

Since you’re looking for suggestions and advice, I’ll move this thread to IMHO.

Okay, I’ve gone running at night a couple times. I can go longer than I thought, but still not far. Once I have pain in my right shoulder and side, I’m done. Is this just a problem that goes with lack of endurance, or something else? If the latter, what can I do to take care of it?

Also, any suggestions on what to do in order to be able to crouch on bent toes for long periods without experiencing excessive discomfort?

If you get bored and want some fun aerobic exercise, just put some good music and dance. Hold a couple of soup cans or water bottles in your hands to add to the workout. I have to wait until my wife is out of the house to do this, as I can’t concentrate when people are laughing at me.

While I’m not sure if doing so is really good for your joints, just try doing it a little longer each day. Time yourself and try to get a few more seconds out of it until you can reach a point where you feel comfortable.

Oh, and don’t worry that you’re not doing as much exercise now as you’d like. The key to exercise is keeping at it. You can’t run marathons until you can run one mile and then two and then three (you get the picture).
