I find I don’t remember pain very well. I can remember that when I broke my arm I fantasized about cutting it off, it hurt so much. But I don’t remember the pain that made me think that.
Give me a couple minutes of pain followed by no anesthesia to recover from any day.
Apparently, after my second hernia operation, because the IV in my left hand hurt so much, I ripped it out, refused to allow them to put it back in and rolled on my side to sleep (the incision was upward from my navel). I woke several hours later with zero memory of any of that.
All I could say was “Sounds like me”.
