Explain the vitriol directed towards Jesse Jackson, please

So it’s just because racist white bigots see Jesse and Al as uppity niggers, when they’re really Great Men? Got it.

Whether they are great or not is irrelevant. The media has a fixation on them because they are controversial and dare to speak out on issues that would normally no one would.

Whites don’t want to hear or talk about racism unless their trying to co-opt it to their own advantage i.e. reverse racism claims with respect to affirmative action.

Well, I admit it’s getting rarer these days, but some people “normally would not” speak out on an issue that’s an entirely fabricated, fictitious crime.

No, just looking at what he does and how he’s paid.

Here’s what I think best describes the two of them.

Racist.

Right…are you in denial?

The media has a fixation on them because they’ll say and/do anything, and that “anything” sells ads and ads pay the bills. Jesse Jackson is Louie Farrakhan without the bean pies and bow ties, and Sharpton’s a loud mouthed coat-tail rider. Neither of them are “leaders” they’re chatterboxes overflowing with loads and loads of blah, blah, blah. as a pair they lack substance.

Jesse Jackson Jr. however IS a leader, and a good one. He’s taken government to task, is helping direct some much needed fed money to the South Side of Chicago, and has done more in his tenure in Congress than his dad has done in the last 20 years. I’m happy to be in his district.

Oh yeah, by the way…Ain’t no such thing as “reverse racism” If you’re white and hate black people for being black, you’re a racist. If you’re black and hate white people for being white, you’re ALSO a racist.

That “reverse” nonsense sticks in my craw.

Is there any answer to this question that won’t confirm the state of denial?

Not at all.
I just think it is funny that people like you always paint with those broad brushes you accuse other people of having.

And yes, the “people like you”-pun is intended.

I suppose pundits such as Rush and O’Reilly have plenty of substance? Whites tend to like them alot.

Some things have changed in the last 20 years, which more than likely allows him to be taken more seriously as a black man.

There’s orders of magnitude more hate amongst white towards blacks than vice versa.

You mean the the sweeping generalizations that you’re making?

And neither of them are identified as “leaders” in the white community. They are pundits–Limbaugh is, specifically, an entertainer who happens to use political diatribes as his schtick.

Unless you have an actual study to provide evidence of this, I suspect that it is just wishful thinking on your part.

I am not claiming the reverse–that blacks bear an order of magnitude more hatred than whites–but there is simply not a huge amount of hatred by whites toward blacks floating around the white community. There are specific neighborhoods (typically where poorer whites are competing with blacks of similar wealth and education) where there is a higher incidence of anger than can become hatred. However, the vast majority of white people probably do not have any feelings toward blacks, as a group, one way or another and it is certainly not expressed as hatred.

You would be more accurate lamenting white apathy than hatred.

You are really funny.
Don’t you see that you are making the same blanket, sweeping generalizations as the ones that you are decrying?
Pot, meet kettle.
Take for instance :

Still don’t get it?

Oh good gawd no. Those two twits are even MORE vacuous and rabid than the previous two twits. Limbaugh and O’Reilly are entertainers and they admit it, Jackson and Sharpton don’t admit it, that’s the only difference.

Cite?

But you would like to be the exception to the rule?
